Conservation, Sports & Dance (CSD)
We increasingly aspire to harness the power of sport not only for the on-the-pitch physical and socio-economic gains of our trainees but also to bring off-the-pitch relevance in our constituency. This committed to bring solutions that support the communities where our RTCs are based is expressed through our partnership with the Limbe Wildlife Center in an innovative initiative to pass on the message of conservation education to the next generation of Cameroonian youths through Sport and Contemporary Dance.
Next Heroes
We remain a social enterprise, aware that the results of our efforts must bring solution to or positively advance social issues by producing a positive change in attitude, behavior or condition for our target constituency. The Next Heroes is an expression of innovative efforts to redress the marginalization of girls in sport, while providing opportunities through sport for girls to receive a wider range of aptitude enhancement in the 5th Municipal District of Douala in Cameroon. Activity groups include Athletics, Football, Dance, Journalism and Jury
Sports and Research
After running a Sports Education and Training Program for 4 years since 2012, ADISA took a monumental leap into Sports and Research in 2017. The goal was to complement the efforts of the Sports and Health program ran through annual Medical Workshops initiated in 2016, in a bid to prepare a path for ADISA to eventually develop a Sports Medicine program in the years ahead. The sports and research program team is made up of professionals in the fields of Sports and Physical Education, Medicine, Nursing, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Computer Science, Sociology, and headed by an Epidemiologist.
The purpose of our first study is to investigate the effect of physical activity on athlete development of children. The efforts of this work were hampered by the growing Anglophone crisis in the south west and North west regions in 2017 to 2019. Just when we hope to resume field work, the COVID-19 pandemic hit globe in 2020. However, the team is currently being reconstituted and will resume to complete the project this 2022.
